Fee for Service
The Institute of Fluorescence, IoF, offers several services for fixed fee amounts. Fee for service contracts are significantly different than Sponsored Research Programs in that no intellectual property is usually generated for/from these services. In contrast, sponsored programs, more often than not, involve close collaboration with a partner from either Industry or Government, where the outcome of the research is either peer-reviewed publications and/or the generation of intellectual property.
The Institute of Fluorescence routinely undertakes fee for service relationships with Industry and Government. Typical services we offer include, but are not limited to the following:
- Measurement of fluorescence spectra, various solvents and temperature
- Measurement of absorption, excitation spectra
- Fluorescence / phosphorescence lifetimes, quantum yields, Singlet Oxygen and Superoxide yields
- Time-resolved measurements: Polarization / Anisotropy
- Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS)
- Photophysical properties and optical characterization of new molecules and biological samples
- Fluorescence microscopy / cellular imaging
- A fully operation BSL 3 suite. (BioSafety Level 3)
- Pump probe and upconversion measurements
- Single Molecule Spectroscopy (SMS)
- Synthesis and characterization of fluorescent probes
- Development of sensors for industrial and biological applications
- Metal and plasmon-enhanced phenomena
- High-throughput fluorescence measurements
For further details of measurements we undertake on a fee-for-service basis or to enquire about the costs for either single or bulk (high-throughput) measurements, please contact the Director, Dr. Chris D. Geddes, Professor.
